Yeah i dont see kung fu stances impractical at all. like have u ever tried the dragon stance? or maybe the white crane? they are great for improving power and balance which will improve your overall abilities. but yeah like delta said dont worry about critiquing the style to much for now(assuming the school and instruction is all good)just worry about learning what u can and becoming proficient at it.

meaning behind the stance itself.

 

Without the interpretation from the master,

 

we would always see the apparent meaning.

 

A "slam" with one leg on foot may be a kind of wrestling skill,

 

A "palm" landed on the ground is to grab sand to attack

 

people's eyes.

 

You may find the movement strange if no one tell you.

Darkness grants me pair of dark black eye,

Yet I determine to look for Brightness
