Luckykboxer
hrm I see your quote from the BKf there. I have competed against quite a few BKF members over the years, have also gotten the opportunity many times to train personally with Orned "Chicken" Gabriel. As a matter of fact he was on my Black Belt test board.
delta1
I've only had the opportunity, and privilage, to work with them once. But I was obviously more than impresed by all I met. (I didn't get to meet Mr. Gabriel, though.) If you've competed angainst and worked with these guys, I'm sure you know what I mean. Freedom isn't free! SoulAssassin
Thanks for the information everyone. I understand a little better now. Coming from private trainers not using ranks or titles, an not a school becomes a bit confusing sometimes. Even thought ranks dont mean anything, Somtimes its nice to know where you are on the totem pole though, to see how far you have came from something. I rolled with my friends sensi from tiger shulmans about a year or two ago an he was impressed, and said if I only knew kata I would be more better off. -SoulAssassin"I aint gonna eat, I aint gonna sleep, aint gonna breath till I see what I wanna see and what I wanna see is you goto asleep, in the dirt permanently"
Luckykboxer
it was my first real training. to make a long ugly story short, I had a choice to make and I chose to leave a lifestyle, but i couldnt leave behind my passion. When i started at my school it was really old school... blood on the carpet every night. Fighting for me is exhilerating, some people have different passions, mine is to pit myself against another human being and come out on top, which probably explains why im a huge chess players, strategy game player, debater, etc.etc. just too dang competitive, cant seem to let anything rest. I just happened to be really good at fighting, so i went from making money at it a certain way, to making money at it my current way
torris
American Chung Do Kwon TKD, incorporates various different styles in addition to TKD high kicks. Our belt system is White, Gold, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, 1st DAN, 2nd DAN, and Black, 1-10th DAN. We are to refer to higher ranking belts as Sir, or Ma'am at all times. 5th DAN and higher Black belt, we refer to them as Master . It is a sign of respect, which is a very important part of our Dojang.
