Codja Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Think about my maxim: It can't be worse than worst. So even if you think you can't "survive" another hour, just think that it cannot hurts more than really much. You have to be focused, it's all about the mental. If something is really tough, think about something else to forget pain. Good luck!
manuelito Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 the hardest part is already over. don't get wound up about testing it is just like all the others except a little longer. if are this far then you a ready for it. just remeber relax and do not look at the floor while you perform kata. enjoy and good luck. pain is weakness leaving the body.fear is the mind killer, i will face my fear and let it pass threw me. from the movie "dune"i know kung fu...show me. from the movie "the matrix"
Shorin Ryuu Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 In most schools, you are not invited to test unless you are ready. Unless you break mentally, you should have no problem. That being said, relax (as much as possible). I'm not sure if I am as much a big a fan of this anymore (more philosophical reasons, not that I can't hack it), but I know that many of our tests in my style range from hours to days and involve lots of physical exercise and stuff. Ti Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 I've seen a guy fail shodan 5 times. On the 5th time the sensei, knew he deserved and gave it to him.
