KickChick
Check out the threads in the Tae Kwon Do Forum under "breaking techniques" there are 56 posts to read (very interesting) here lies some answers to your questions. Actually I use my boards as fire wood ... and it is starting to get a bit chilly out now! Time to break some more boards!!

SaiFightsMS
Dreamer I am so happy to know I am not alone. No I have not kept all the subsequent boards. I have a few of the first's from techniques that took me a long time to be able to do. For some reason it took me 2 years after the first try to successfully do an elbow break like - in Heian yondan. Sometimes when I feel really discouraged I get it out and look at it and remember. Then I feel better. Can't explain it. But, it works.
username237
the easiest way to breakboard is to not concentrate on actually hitting what you want to break but concentrate on hitting past it. Like imagining that behind the break board there is another target which you are aiming for instead. Oh and one more tip which i ignored first time i attempted breaking, dont hit with the wrong knuckles or you will pretty much break your hand! dreamer38f
I do like looking at that 1st board...that since of self accomplishment is awesome Tonite tested for green/blue stripe..the method of choice of the grand master was the spinning reverse side kick..only took me 3 times but i didnt give up and got it accomplished and my 15 y/o son actually got to see it ...lol, wonder if he will pay a little more attention to me now? He decided on the way home he wanted to try to break it smaller...."NO way that is my board" was my response If you think you can't, then you must. If you must, you will. niel0092
I've keep the boards from my breaks so far with the idea that when I test for black belt I'll use them in a post-test bonfire. I've also toyed with the idea of making a belt display rack out of them using the board from each level to hold that belt. What do you think?
