G95champ
Well a Bo is a long Staff and a Jo is a short staff. My guess is its an art that teaching how to use the staff. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
aefibird
There are also MA's that train specifically in the use of each. Jodo (not to be confused with Judo!), for the short staff and Bodo (again, not to be confused with Budo!) for the longer staff. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
