Chibi Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 I don't study shotokan, but thought some people here might like to look at this page. http://www.unh.edu/shotokan/kata.html
Jiyn Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Hmm, thats a good site for learning new kata's. Karate is like an explosion, not like paint drying!
tommarker Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Ahhh, the famous pirated "blue videos" strike again. I don't have a problem with people taping themselves and putting it on the internet, but I believe these are copyrighted. Having said that, I've downloaded each of them at one point or another, so there you go Buyer (or pirate) beware! I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Adrian Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 I looked at this page i thought that the outline of the Kata's where ok however I think it could use less speed to show better technique. The ultimate aim in the art of Karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of it’s participants.
aefibird Posted July 31, 2004 Posted July 31, 2004 There are a couple of versions of the 'blue screen' kata videos. One set is done speed/power, as the kata should be performed, the other set is slower to show technique. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
