My name is Angela. I am new to Karate Forums but I am a seasoned poster on some other forums... I see that some of the old favourites from them have already made their way here. :)

 

I study Shotokan Karate in the small town of Paignton in Devon, England.

Ah right. You'd have known who I meant if you trained with him - he's a club instructor.

 

Yes, there are loads of karate clubs in the Torbay area, as I found out last month when I entered the South West Championships!

Hi, welcome to KF !

You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
