Trock
Recently I went ouside the "traditional" MA in my area and began training in Vovinam (MA of Vietnam). Although it seems to be more popular than I originally thought it was, I can not seem to find many books or tapes for Vovinam. I did find a couple of tapes in Budo International, but they seem to be the only sources of written/taped resource material. If anyone knows of any websites that may supply written or recorded literature on Vovinam I would greatly appreciate the info. Also, I would like to hear from anyone who has trained or who is currently training in Vovinam. Thanks.

Red Triangle student
I have never actually heard of "Vovinam" I don't think it is a very popular Martial Art. You will be lucky to get any written Literature on. But since it is a Martial Art used by the Vietneese or the Americans in Vietnam then if you get text on the combat the soldiers of Vietnam used then it should be in that. Beka
I don't study Vovinam, but I do Cuong Nhu, which was created by a Vietnamese man who hybridized several styles, including Vovinam, to create Cuong Nhu. You might want to try researching Cuong Nhu as well, to see what parts of it come from Vovinam. It might be a fair back-door method.
aefibird
If you're training in Vovinam with an instructor (as opposed to teaching yourself), then the best place to start would be with him or her. Your instructor would probably be able to give you plenty of info about the style and also if there are any good books/video tapes about the art. "Was it really worth it?
