Needed: 100% cotton red heavy weight gi jacket

Recommended Posts

As the subject says, I am looking for a heavy weight red gi jacket that is 100% cotton. The pants are not needed.

I can find it in polyester in middleweight but I've had that before and it's horrible.

I've tried century (horrible) and I use a heavy weight black gi from Golden Tiger that I enjoy but they don't have a red jacket.

Any help would be great! Thanks.

They have the 100% cotton heavyweight red tops for about $26.

Also https://www.kwonusa.com has them, but they are about $50 for the whole set.

If all else fails, get your favorite white 100% cotton ghi and a few packets of Rit dye. Make sure you use plenty of dye, though, or it will come out pink. I wear grey ghi's, and that is what I do is either use too little black on cotton, or a lot of black on a blend. Use a dye setter as well, and wash seperately a few times (unless you like pink tones in the rest of your laundry).

That is an odd way to spell gi (ghi). Is that how your school/style spells it?

PS - I am not being sarcastic. I am really asking.

Most oriental words have more than one occidentalized spelling. I've seen it spelled both ways before. Couldn't even tell you why I spell it this way. Besides, I can't spell that well in English! WHy would I worry about Japanese!
