Red Triangle student
Hi, I was just wondering what techniques people seem to favour when they are competing in Tournaments? I will list the commmon techniques that are used and others. "To be elated at success, and dissappointed at defeat, is to be the child of Circumstances." I wish I followed that rule! ^^ I hate Losing!

P.A.L
I think most points come from Uraken and Mawashi.
BJJShotoshe
I prefer the O-Soto-geri shodan - ShotokanBlue Belt - Jiu-JitsuWhoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care the themself without that law is both. For wounded man shall say to his assailant, if I live I will kill you, If I die you are forgiven-- such is the rule of Honor. ramymensa
go long legged martial artists !!! Mawashi is the preffered .. Nice. I like leg techniques because I'm tall and quite flexible (took a long time, but it's worth the effort). I also like punches .. combinations and counter attacks. As for what works ... it depends on the match itself, the opponent, your inspiration ... World Shotokan Karate
Rig
My Favourite is to feint a mae geri (front snap kick) then turn it into a jodan mawashi geri when the defender attempts to block it. My second favourite technique is a leading hand face punch (mackan zuki) and follow up with a leading leg mawashi geri -- Righttps://www.AtherstoneKarate.co.uk
Jussi Häkkinen
What in earth are "Hurracaine" (I think you mean "hurricane"), "mia-geri" (maegeri?) or kizame-zuki (kizami-zuki?). Well, I maybe can live with a poorly translitterated Japanese, but what is that "hurricane" you mentioned? I've always thought that hurricane is a natural disaster, not a karate technique. Coco
My Favourite is to feint a mae geri (front snap kick) then turn it into a jodan mawashi geri when the defender attempts to block it. The black belt at our schools always does that, im used to it If you ever tried that on a tournament with me, youd be up for a huge suprise. aefibird
I like using Uraken (back-fist). If I've guessed correctly, the "hurricane" that's referred to in this poll is a type of kick. However, he could be meaning a natural disaster - an extreme way to win a tournament, by getting the weather on your side!! "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
