I have read all of the Dan Brown books. My favorite was Digital Fortress. I am currently reading The Castle of Otranto with Classic Gothic Horror.

"Leadership Secrets of the Rogue Warrior" by Richard Marcinko, not totally fiction, but still an engaging, fiction like read. The language is strictly for adults though.

Castle of Otranto = Great book.

One of my degree course specialisms is Gothic Literature.

If you're into the gothic, then I'd recommend that you try and get hold of anything by Eliza Parsons. It can be a bit tricky getting her works, but if you can then they're an excellent read.

The most recent book I finished was Dune, which I enjoyed. I started to read the next book in the series, "Dune Messiah," but I haven't really been reading it at all lately.

Usually the only time I read is before bed, just to help me relax and get to sleep. Lately I've been reading this collection of short stories I bought years ago at a used bookstore called "Rivals of Sherlock Holmes." It's kind of cool actually, it's a collection of mystery stories written by contemporaries of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and I believe they were sort of trying to "compete" with the popularity of his Sherlock Holmes stories. They're actually pretty good. (I still like Sherlock Holmes better, though. ^_^)

That sounds interesting Erin. I'll have to look out for that book.

I've just spent soooooo much money today in Waterstones (UK book shop).

Got the latest by Alexander McCall Smith (his series of books about the Number One Ladies Detective Agency is awesome), as well as a few others, including one by Mick Foley of all people. He's a former WWE wrestler, for those of you who don't know of him. It's called Tietam Brown - anyone read it?

I don't spend time reading books...I would rather spend my time doing things that people will write books about.

i haven't read that one, but i read parts of another one of his books out of curiousity (i think it was called something to the effect of "foley is good and the real world is faker than wrestling"). it was filled with non-sensical rants and "reasons why i'm so great" kinda stuff. then again, i've never been a pro wrestling fan, so the book probably wasn't directed towards me.

I started reading Mick Foley's autobiography, but I couldn't finish it. Too much of the 'why I'm better than everyone else' in it, like you said.

This latest book of his is a novel, though. The blurb on the back sounds good.

Anyway, if I don't like it it doesn't matter too much - I got it free on a "3 for the price of 2" promotion!

...recently i've been gorging myself on travel books, namely lonely planet and time out guides.

ahem, guess what i'm planning......

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.
