To break brick or wood do you really need years of training?

Recommended Posts

I broke brick in 3 weeks but by practice. It was not hard. I just got in the right stance and imagined myself going straight to the ground. I used the palm strike technique.

To break something like bricks or wood in itself isn't that hard. What makes it hard are primarily 2 things, one: being able to do it consistently on the first try, and two: the technique you use, some are much easier to break with than others.

And let's not forget, the bricks provided for breaking are prepared differently, as are the boards cut differently, to ensure easy breakage. Great for self-esteem, to help out in learning how to penetrate and concentrate, and for fooling parents into believing thier kids are actually getting 'uber.'

Oh yeah forgot that, I tried to break the red building bricks that were left over from construction on a church my parents attended when I was a kid. YEEEEOUCH!

the biggest factor and barrier to get through when breaking is the mental one. You have to disbelieve the notion that the target is hard, if you think that you wont break it then you wont , you have to be confident. its all mental in the overall view of things therefor if you want to maximize your amount of breaking materials you should probably train for years before moving up to two feet thick of concrete....which is my plan for sept as a tournament opening demonstration ...well just part of the demonstration!

when you say two feet thick.... can you explain that further please.

I assume you mean bricks stacked on top of each other with spacers to equal 2 feet?

everytime i hear two feet thick it makes me think of 1 big block of two foot thick concrete.

I would love to see someone break that, but i doubt that is possible, unless there is a very specific trick to how the concrete block is made

yes, you are correct.

i have several blocks each 3 inches in thickness, spaced apart with pencils that have the nice flat edges on the sides....

i think it could be possible to break a large amount of concrete that is a solid and very large block...

i have done 4 inch blocks before, and right now i do 3 inches since that is whats available....so i guess if you worked on it gradually it would be possible but i think that it would take a lot longer to get up to that stage of breaking....that would be sweet to see though.

ok that makes more sense... in october i am attempting to do 12 stacks of 3 inch bricks ranging from 1 brick to 12 bricks.

so that comes out too.... 3 feet?? ugg i shouldnt have thought of it like that :/

the brick stats are actually taken from the guiness world records.

but i am going back to thinking of 12 3 inch bricks... the other way is too blech... hehe
