muaythaifreak Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Anyone ever heard of the rear clinch in MT? My Kru showed it to us the other day and it's pretty brutal. You clinch from behind just like you do from the front, with your hands under the chin and your elbows on the shoulder blades forcing the head back. From this position you can unload knees on your opponents spine and kidneys like crazy, and if you hold it right there's not much your opponent can do to defend from it. Just thought I'd share a cool technique. It's from Muay Boran and it works much better without gloves than it does with it. Of course it is a battlefield technique and not one you'd want to try to use in the ring as you could mess someone up pretty bad. Any thoughts? Pain is temporary, glory is forever, and chicks dig scars!-=pain is weakness leaving the body=-If there's lead in the air, there is hope in the heart!
Luckykboxer Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 this technique is in many styles of martial arts, including kenpo karate.. It is illegal in muay thai sport fighting... only would be used in street fights or a life and death scenario.
Vito Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 That's some good stuff. You could also easily vary that into chokes or different things while kneeing them. "If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." -Machiavelli
