krunchyfrogg
I remember reading about a Hwai'ian martial art somewhere. What's the name of this art? I'm planning on going to Hawai'i, and hopefully I'll find the time to attend a class and see what it's like while out there! Red J
Kajukenbo Here's a recent thread. http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=13148&highlight=kajukenbo I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Spaceman
I thought Lua was traditional Hawai'ian; I'm pretty sure it is. Kajukenbo is a recent creation based on several different arts, rather than something more ancient and "native". I'm magic. It's just that if I showed my magic in public, people would die, and I don't want that kind of burden to live with.
DLopez
I tried to think of what the Hawaiian MA is, but I just can't seem to get past 'Hula'. Rotten Head Fok
I have heard of one native to Hawaii, Lua. You must be stable and balanced in your foot work, if you have to use your martial knowledge in combat, your intent should be to win. If you do strike, you must release great power! The martial arts are easy to learn, but difficult to correct.
aefibird
Hey, if you do get chance to train in Lua (or any other Hawaiian art) then don't forget to tell us what its like! I like reading about different arts, especially if it's one that I don't know a lot about. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
