Does anyone know how I could train myself without having to go to a class? Are there any good books or movies that I can buy to learn how to take Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun, Kickboxing, etc.?

To be honest the basics do require some instruction. It is best to stop bad habits before they are too deeply ingrained.

It may be possible to do a combination with a willing instructor. But the student should also be receptive to all input from the instructor. And both student and instructor should be aware of how things stand.

I personally think training yourself is bullshit, go find a real instructor, not Mr. Tae Bo on your TV set.

I don't think you can really develop the touch sensitivity required for some arts without training with a partner. Some aspects of certain arts require reacting to tactile stimulation. I don't know how you can develop that working alone or develop it properly without working with a knowledgable instructor.
