Icetuete Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 although this might sound a little stupid, i'll give it a go what do i have to know when i buy a jumprope? what is the ideal lenght for me (i am about 176cm)? what material do you prefer? are there any real differences between jumpropes? thx
Northren Ogre Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 Ideal length should be , if you stand on the middle of the rope, the handles should be at armpit height. I prefer a good leather rope. Everlast makes a pretty good rope. http://prkickboxing.tripod.com
Sandhoppa Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Do you guys suggest leather because of the quality of the material and so it wont fray or wear out as fast? Or is there another reason why leather is popular. I was looking at the 3 dollar jumprope with wooden handles - im a college student so obviously the money is gonna make some kind of difference The sand bringeth and the sand taketh away...Disciple of Master Jules' Temple of Sand Dojo
aefibird Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I have a fabric one with rubber handles that I use at home. It cost me about £2.50 and I've had it almost 5 years. It's still going strong and shows no sign of wearing out, even though I use it on a regular basis. As long as the rope is the correct length for you, that's more important than what it is made from IMO. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
