Jade Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 I think Czech Rep. is one of the few teams that deserve to win this tournement...i watched the match of yesterday and they are really good. "With a bit of imagination, kata can be deadly." - Hidy Ochiai

sAtelitte Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I CANNOT FACE IT! WE LOST TO PORTUGAL! WE WERE ROBBED BY THE SWISS REF! CAMPBEL DEFINITELY SCORED THAT HEADER! Yeah he scored, but portugal's keeper was pulled down (don't remember anymore by who) so the ref was right in my humble opinion I was rooting for portugal but i never thought the match was going to be that exciting. Portugal was going to defeat the english easly, guess not. One of the best matches so far in the Europian championship if you ask me. The portugese were simply the best when it came to the penalty's, ricardo (the portugese goalkeeper) penalty was flawless, completly unstopable unlike the rest. Anyway better to lose this way against portugal then to lose with 1-0 like Greece vs France https://www.shaolin.be
aefibird Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 *cries* I can't believe England lost. (cue chants of "we wuz robbed") It all went downhill from Rooney's injury. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers!
DLopez Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Okay, dumb question here. Does this mean that England isn't going to qualify for the World Cup play? ramymensa Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 I don't thik they wouldn't qualify for the World Championship. I think it's a different set of matches. I could be wrong though. I was with England on that match, because Romania didn't qualify (we were indeed robbed by Urs Mayer, but that's football). The game with Portugal was great anyway, a heart attack inducing one I was sorry England was sent home, but they'll have other opportunities. As far as I can see Euro 2004 is not "typical": we've got the favourites out. Italy, Germany, Spain, England, France, Sweeden, all great teams were sent home. And those considerred the second level went on. We'll see what's happening next. World Shotokan Karate
SuperFlex Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Okay, dumb question here. Does this mean that England isn't going to qualify for the World Cup play? (Be gentle in your poking fun! ) No, we can still qualify, as the world cup is run by fifa (https://www.fifa.com), and the european championships are run by uefa (https://www.uefa.com). DEUTCH!!!
aefibird Posted June 27, 2004 Author Posted June 27, 2004 lol, if England get Urs Mayer to referee any more matches then we'll certainly never get to the world cup finals again! Sorry to hear than Romania were robbed by his dodgy reffing skills too, Ramymensa. To answer your question properly, yes, England can still be in the World Cup. The two tournaments are run by different governing bodies, and don't affect one another. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." sAtelitte Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Strange how you guys keep talking about being robbed by the referee, while saying nothing about beckham and vassel missing their penalty kicks. Did somebody noticed when portugal scored their first goal, when the ball was in the air not one english defender jumped for it. One portugese attacker unfortunalty did jump. I think these were the main reasons why england lost. I'm going to shut up now before i get every english user here on my back it was a great match and portugal was just that little bit better. https://www.shaolin.be
