Ironberg
Are there any video clips of Tae Kwon Do at the Olympic games anywhere online? Just curious, thanks. Kicks
I'm still looking. A few moths ago I did find a few clips of the Olympic weight selection trials and downloaded them. Now I'm trying to find the website again. There were three matches. If I find it I'll let you know. when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
Kicks
I found a page with videos of US Olympic weight selections and team trials. It features Many Meloon, Elisha Voren, Steven Lopez, Tim Thackery, Diana Lopez, Kay Poe, Arnell Smith, Jason McEuin and more. Go to http://www.sc-tkd.com/video.htm to view the videos. Check out the Paris Fightoff hightlights video. Warning: If you like non-stop, continious sparring, go rent a movie or go watch young color belts sparring. You may get bored watching some of these videos. While at times there is fast paced, hard hitting action, a lot of time is spent just bouncing waiting for the other person to attack so a counter attack is thrown. Yet I love this sport. It doesn't seem boring when I'm on the mat, just when I watch MY videos! when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
Ironberg
Holy Cow! The first clip on the page consisted almost entirely of a two black belt wearing women jumping up and down facing each other. I was running my fingernails down my face watching it - almost shouting in anger. I've enjoyed watching yellow belts sparring better!!! The highlights clip was amusing - I'm rather impressed with the utter lack of side kicks in the clip. Then there was the part where one of them got amnesia from a head kick - and thought he was in a sumo match, trying to push the other guy out of the ring! I was laughing my azz off! I downloaded another match and watched in horror the pain of utter anticlimax. Their fighting techniques consisted of shouting at each other, hoping their womanish screams would transmit sound waves that would shatter the other's brain lobes. I've sparred in karate tournaments, I've sparred in Tae Kwon Do tournaments - this isn't sparring. I've never seen anything like it! Thanks for finding that website, though, that took some effort. And yes, I'm positive that your fighting clips have a much stronger intensity factor. Kicks
I was running my fingernails down my face watching it - almost shouting in anger. I've enjoyed watching yellow belts sparring better!!! Hey, you can't say I didn't try to warn you. You're heard of 'dirty dancing', now watch dirty fighting the Nia & Diana fight. Diana does some pushing so Nia punches her in the throat ...TWICE. At the end Nia falls and Diana stomps her in the head. However, The 2003 Tim vs Arnell finals has some good sequences. This Arnell Smith is FAST!!! Enjoy the clips, but let's be nice. These atheles were doing their best to earn a spot on the Olympic team and represent the USA. Let's at least give them credit for being there and trying, even if it's not to our amusement. If I were any better then them I would have been there; but I'm not, so I wasn't. Take care. when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
Trock
I also watched the first fight b4 reading the replies....all I have to say is (and I quote) "hahahhaahahahahahahah". What the heck are they doing? Bounce, bounce, bounce...flex....[repeat][repeat] kick 1 time, hug...Bounce, bounce, bounce...flex....[repeat][repeat] I definitely think they have the "bouncing up and down on their toes" mastered. If thats the olympics, there is hope for me yet!!!!!!!!!!!
