krunchyfrogg Posted June 15, 2004 Author Posted June 15, 2004 Thanks for the advice everybody. I haven't started any training yet, but assuming I have a choice (I believe I do, but I try to trust my Senseis' reasoning without questions), I'll choose the bo. lyrikalgeenus Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Bo is your best choice, not only is it a great beginning wepon, it gets your mind thinking about blocks, strikes, etc.
AlienRage Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 start with bo...it also helps everything else that you do, believe it or not! and it's the most adaptable weapon...anything could potentially be a bo!
Spin Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 If single/double filipeno sticks were on the list, I'd recommend them, just because it is a very practical weapon and can be easily improvised incase of emergencies (how hard is it to find one or two sticks to whack someone with?? alternatly snap a pool que over your knee and make your own ) http://www.spinstorm.cjb.net
KamaGirl Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 i'd say the bo is a best first weapon. for practical use, if you are attacked on the street, any makeshift weapon you find is probably going to be the most similar to a bo, or stick. the bo is fairly easy to work with, being just an extension of length to your arm. http://www.americanblackbeltacademy.com/
