N.O. Muay Thai
I am becoming a Muay Thai enthusiast fast. What equipment would be essential to train outside of the gym. Also this forum is seeing little action so I thought I would post something. Laissez les bons temps rouler (less ay lay bon ton roo lay) - "Let the good times roll", a popular Cajun expression. It captures the Cajun "joie de vivre" (joy of life).
muaythaifreak
Good idea, this forum doesn't see the action the others do as MT practitioners seem to be the minority. As to your question, I have a heavy bag in my garage and although a lot of space has to be commited to it to benifit from having one, it's a big help. I also have a leg kick pad (2'x2' square by 5" deep.), Thai pads, and focus mits. Of course you'll need gloves, and wrist wraps. Never hit the heavy bag without wrapping your wrists and if you do, don't hit really hard. It's very hard on your wrists. I also make regular use of a jump rope, and I have an old truck tire that I use to strengthen my calves. If you can find a good feeder, all you really need are the thai pads. If you're working out alone, the bag is your best bet. Pain is temporary, glory is forever, and chicks dig scars!-=pain is weakness leaving the body=-If there's lead in the air, there is hope in the heart! Red J
I am becoming a Muay Thai enthusiast fast. Congratulations. It doesn't take much to get hooked. Enjoy the training. I have a heavy bag, jump rope, and a good pair of running shoes. While I don't train Muay Thai, I do my fair share to stay on top of my skills. Good luck and train hard. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.

Drunken Monkey
don't forget that thai pads and focus mitts are pretty much useless unless you have someone with you who knows how to use them and train with them well. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite." Thuggish
weights, though i prefer a gym where they have more stuff than you could possibly fit in your place. its not necessarily impossible to get a bag in an appartment though.. a broken arm throws no punches
