aefibird
I'm convinced that Japanese style karate gi's are sent to try the patience of every martial artist in the world. I've never had one yet that has truly fitted me properly, and most of the people I know have to have some taken off the legs and arms of their gi (manufacturers must think we're all 7 foot tall with arms like Orang-Utans.) One of these days I'm gonna design a properly fitting gi that no martial artist ever has to adjust in a lesson... Then I'll make a fortune from you all! *evil cackle* *is led away to take evening medication* "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Jussi Häkkinen
Heh. Get a proper do-gi. Tournament cut - i.e. 3/4 length sleeves and pants, long jacket. Enough room. Most comfortable sports outfit ever done. Remember: You can get those sleeves and pants shortened. Or then - just buy Shureido, Tokaido or Hirota do-gi, tournament cut. You can get a good one - but you'll have to pay some good money for that one. aefibird
I've got a good quality gi (got several of them actually) but whatever I buy it never seems to fit utterly perfectly - even the £110 Tokaido gi. Ah well, maybe it's just me, maybe I'm odd when it comes to gi's! "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." The Beautiful South - The Rose of My CologneSheffield Steelers! Kamiya
Heehee, I spoke just a little too soon, because I got my pants and white belt today. So yay! My uniform is a little big on me, but that's ok because it might shrink. When I was in tkd my pants became too short. My karate pants are long on me, so hopefully everything will equalize. Now it's just a matter of getting used to the fact that my uniform makes it seem like it's 100 degrees in the dojo! Ah, the joys of martial art uniforms, how I missed them! ~Erin9th Kyu"Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft."~ Theodore Roosevelt
