drunkenninja Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Has anyone used the Wavemaster xxl bag? I am considering buying one. Im not so sure about freestanding bags though. My biggest concern would be of course, would i knock it over?
Pacificshore Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 I would think by the design the XXL isn't a free standing bag likely to fall over easily. I have one of the earlier models, and although I've banged it around, I have yet to actually knock it over. Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
drunkenninja Posted June 1, 2004 Author Posted June 1, 2004 pacific shore, do you have the original, wavemaster?
White Warlock Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 You are able to adjust the amount of water you put in it, or opt to put sand in it (although i've heard this is not a good idea), which directly impacts just how 'rigid' they behave. The majority of weight is distributed about the base. The ones displayed at stores are empty, thus they wobble around like weebles when whacked. When partially or completely filled, they're pretty firm. Best bag out there for the apartment/condo dweller, but be warned... cats love it as a scratching post. drunkenninja Posted June 3, 2004 Author Posted June 3, 2004 Thanks, i went ahead and ordered it. I think id like it and with sand, it should be stable with good workout. When i get it, Ill post my reviews about here. Im sure my girlfreind will appreciate it since i wont have to ask her to hold up the targets for me anymore.
Xerxes Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 I personally own a wavemaster and yes it is possible to knock it over, but only if your doing a massive side thrust kick. You fill them with gallons of water so I recommend it.
Northren Ogre Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 I knock my wave master over with hooks and crosses.....but maybe yours will do better with sand. http://prkickboxing.tripod.com
CttlePr0dder Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 Hey DrunkenNinja...I know this is not the XXL but this site has the Powerline model on sale at a ridiculously low price. Check it out! http://www.karatekorner.com/index.cfm/action/productdetail/productID/9558.htm
drunkenninja Posted June 19, 2004 Author Posted June 19, 2004 I think from what ive read I will use sand instead of water, since some have had problems with leaks. and hmm..Which weighs more? sand or water? It should be here monday.
