ipscshooter
Assuming fighters with similar experience/size/conditioning/demeanor, how well would practioners of striking arts like TKD/karate/etc. fare against an Aikido/aikijutsu/jujutsu/etc. practioner? Shorinryu Sensei
Assuming fighters with similar experience/size/conditioning/demeanor, how well would practioners of striking arts like TKD/karate/etc. fare against an Aikido/aikijutsu/jujutsu/etc. practioner? I'd say it's a crap shoot as to who would win. There would be countless factors involved that could change at a moments notice and would affect the outcome of the fight. tufrthanu
Well, the first thing is is that I beleive Aikijujutsu has striking in it. Secondly it probably depends more on the fighter than the style...i.e. a crappy striker will lose to a better grappler and vice versa. Thirdly it comes down to a paper~rock~scissors situation. What I mean by that is like this...if a guy walks up to you like hes going to grab you and you break his kneecap you win, but if you go to kick him and he grabs your leg and breaks it he wins, but if as he grabs your leg you poke his eyes out you win...and so on and so forth. Akima
I find, in gerneral, If the striker keeps the opponet away, the stiker wins. If the grappler gets in, the grappler wins.
ramymensa
We're comparing carrots and plums again, but if you really like it ... It would be quite tight. I've learnt in my karate class grappling and locks and practice them. So I guess it happens in many other dojos, so we wouldn't be quite lost.
