Kyle-san
Samurai is derived from the Japanese verb for "to serve". They tested their weapons on criminals, random peasants, basically anyone below their social level that they chose to use at that time.
Little Dragon
Anyone know waht Samurai means and where the origin of it came from? Anyone know how the Samurai tested their "blades"?I dont know about the samurai origin but all i know is they were mostly used for wars. And i have no clue how they tested their blades..probably kill an ally? Samuari and Ninjas are basically alike.Ninjas are just quicker and stealthier for assassinations.Samurais are more advanced at weaponary and strength. The term Samurai came from the an old Chinese one, samurahi, vassal Yes, people had used to think they were tetsed on horse, i.e. the "ten-horse test". Absurd, they "prized" their horses. Human life was expendable.

47MartialMan
Are we thinking post or pre Chinese characterization? Are we talking about a Chinese one influenced by Indian, or other? Drunken Monkey
why are you asking me? you're the one who said it came from an old chinese term. and the gum gong ging isn't a book. it's a long scripture. it might actually have a given english name but i don't know it. i'm not entirely sure why you're looking for it? post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
