47MartialMan Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I guess, it also depends on the "quality and manufacturer. Manufacturers should have washing instructions.
Bleeding Lion Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 I have an alternate gi, but its black. i love it cause it looks very cool, and its what i wear when i practice it by myself. However, in goju, white is preferred. should have seen the look on my sensei's face when i walked in with my black gi today. i looked like a ninja, lol. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence thus, is not an act, but a habit. --- Aristotle
krzychicano Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 I take alot of pride in my dobok so I always get it dry cleaned and pressed. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
ShotokanKid Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Remove the patches (if possible, mine are sewn on) and then bleach, wash, and sew patches on again. pegasi Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 For white gi/dobok that gets accidentally washed with colored items and gets turned into the infamous "pink gi" try Rit Color Remover. It worked well to fix my son's gi that I accidentally got in with some other stuff. Just thought I'd share that little trick I found, as no one likes to have to show up to class with a tinted uniform. what goes around, comes around
