I am really glad our dobahks in Kuk Sool Won are black.

I just toss 'em in the washer in cold water (fabric softener in the rinse), and hang 'em up to dry.

Hassle-free laundry. Gotta love it! :D

I'll second that!

As a matter of fact, I just put it in the dirty cloths hamper, and it magically appears clean and hung up in my closet a day or two later. :brow:

I wouldnt even want to take out some of the dirty stain or the blood stains from my gi. Its all the work you went through, the stains shows you how hard you worked. I wash it but i dont make a big deal out of it.

How comfortable are you in your dirty gi? what if you have a tournament?

Im just asking cuz it might be a good idea. I recently washed my gi for the first time (warm, 5min then hot 5min) then i let it dry overnight on a hanger. I couldnt believe it when i saw it had shrinked. fortunately im getting an exchange for a new one.

Washing in hot water could cause stains to become permanent.

Bleach is bad. It corrodes many fabrics.

- Hand wash, in cold water, any significant stains.

- Wash your gi in cold water, either by hand, or in the washer (i prefer by hand, as washers tend to damage the knit ).

- Hang indoors to dry.

Or, if it's a cheap gi, shove it in with all your whites.

Also, as mm indicated, have more than one gi. You'll get a helluva lot longer lifespan out of one if you're not wearing it every friggin' practice session and competition... sometimes unwashed.
