hi, is there anybody out there that knows how to use this properly? if so would it be possible to get a demonstration on step by step on basic things to do with the chi sao excerciese. i dont mean written wither, if soebody can tape themselves performing thi it would be great. ive seen bruce lees videos where he practices this but i dont get it, i need a slower step by step. it would be grwat if anybody can tape the selves doing this. thanks

It's not a step-by-step thing... it's about learning touch-sensitivity, trapping and bridging (and avoiding being trapped and bridged).

 

Stand square off with your partner. Touch each other's writsts. Start slowly and lightly. He shoud be trying to touch you in a way that with speed and power should be a strike. You should be trying to prevent him from doing so while at the same time trying to do it to him.

 

There are many tricks and strategies to it (attempting to trap, traing to keep spring-arm, deceptive pressure, etc), but it's not a matter of "right " or "wrong" so much as one of effecacy.

it's one of those things that you really have to feel to understand.

 

being told what to do, even seeing it won't help.

 

it also has many many levels to it.

 

at it's most basic it is about maintaining position and forward energy.

 

at a higher level it is about leading energy (stealing) and retaining energy (springing).

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.
