Aikidoka Posted November 24, 2001 Posted November 24, 2001 I know the feeling, and it's great! But don't get too psyched ... heavy bag training is not the same as fighting. Your technique may be powerful, but watch you don't leave yourself open to your 'opponent', and that you are moving, feinting and varying your blows the whole time. Don't imagine you will have all that time to compose yourself in the real world.
SaiFightsMS Posted November 24, 2001 Posted November 24, 2001 :nod:Okay I will admit to having similar feelings when I started breaking. Sometimes training really is a rush.

Kickbutt Posted November 24, 2001 Posted November 24, 2001 I find sparring to be the biggest rush...LOVE IT!! If you think something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room.-Unknown-

I mean you get, say, 30 blackbelts from various systems and you teach them all other, new stuff, every day for hours on end. Say, a year course or something dedicating your life to martial arts It would rock! JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
SaiFightsMS Posted November 25, 2001 Posted November 25, 2001 I kind of think maybe there is something wrong with those who think they are learning martial arts and never experience these feelings. "I am the tiger." "My sai are my claws, and my tonfa are my paws poised for the strikle."
Joecooke007 Posted November 25, 2001 Posted November 25, 2001 Yeah!!! I know exactly what you mean. I practice karate every morning after waking up and every evening before bed. And I take lessons twice a week. I am definately getting stronger and karate is a self- esteem booster for me. I could stand at home and beat up my makiwara board all day.
