tommarker Posted April 27, 2004 Author Posted April 27, 2004 Beka, It's called class. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
shotochem Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Can we please leave politics alone and just respectfully remember those who have died? http://www.iraqbodycount.net Tillman blah blah. How about the people that were bombed in their homes? Were they given an option to die "nobly?" The truth it often a matter of interpretation.......... http://www.slblogs.net/watcherofweasels/archives/000503.html Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
Reklats Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 So what, if we invade and 10k people die, but only 3k of the people who die actually have US bullets in their bodies, the 7k people who died somewhere in the margin don't count? That website is rediculous.
Patrick Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 As aefibird said, this is not politics forums. Non MA related political discussions are not allowed here and that is what this is turning into. Regardless of what you think about President Bush, the war in Iraq and Afghanistan - those issues are not relevant. You have to take this in its most general sense. Forget the US. Forget Iraq. Forget the whole world. What it boils down to, is this: one man wanted to do something (professional football, in this case). He achieved this goal and his dream. He then felt that his country needed him and he gave up his great success and wealth (if only temporarily, at the time) to fight for his country and lay his life on the line for the sake of freedom. Far better a man than most of us. With that in mind, I am going to close this thread because it has served its purpose as well as for the fact that political discussions are inevitable. Thank you.
