Kara Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 I wouldnt' say Hero is the new Matrix, the Matrix is an untouchable film, on my list anyway. Hero is a great movie, i loved it! Never really seen anyone try and fight on water like that, it's wickid. As for the dancing coment...it's just a different style i think. one may prefer one over the other. I like all styles, all pace's, and all actors, as long as there's MA films being produced for viewing. Any story line too, what ever will happin in the plot, just make them fight...lol *2 thumbs up* KBear"lick your wounds, anxious for the next ones"
username9 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 I have this film on DVD - someone bought me it for my birthday but I have just not had chance to sit down and watch it - but I really wanna watche it cos I am a big Jet Li fan!
Jag-Isshinryu Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I loved this movie. Between the individual fight stylizations (water, autumn leves, the red, et cetera), the ending, and the plot twists... Well, Zhang Ziyi is smokin'. Lure with bait; Strike with chaos.~ I: Making of Plans, "Art of War", Sun Tzu.
username9 Posted March 14, 2005 Posted March 14, 2005 I watched it last night and I have to say - I am a little under-whelmed?! But I think I should have watched it when I was paying more attention perhaps - I was a little tired and distracted. Having said this I still think it is a beautifully shot film! And the fight scenes are definitely interesting. I will resevre proper judgement till I have watched it again! hehe
Skeptic 2004 Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 No, no. Your first impression is usually the correct one. I was paying attention carefully the first time I watched it and was under-whelmed. greenbelt_girl15 Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I must say that when I saw it I was a bit under-whelmed to.There were several fight scenes that were great but it definantly isn't the best movie. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, a spirit of power, and of self-discipline.2 Timothy 1:7
ravenzoom Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Nice shots, but the film sucked badly. I was extremely dissapointed in that movie since I thought it was going to be great. I'm so happy I didn't pay to see this in the theaters. Me and my girlfriend watched together and we layed there speechless for a minute or two before we both said it was bad. Don't get me wrong, I like Jet Li, I guess this is just not my type of movie. I like more the Marked for Death type of movies with Seagal
isshinryu5toforever Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 This isn't a real Hong Kong action movie. It is a movie that Jet Li has wanted for a long time. It showed that martial arts is about more than just kicking butt. It shows more of the true spirit of martial arts. There aren't many fight scenes, and I will admit I was expecting an entirely different movie, but I was quite happy with the message that Hero conveyed. He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened.- Tao Te Ching"Move as swift as a wind, stay as silent as forest, attack as fierce as fire, undefeatable defense like a mountain."- Sun Tzu, the Art of War
