TheDevilAside Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 but if you plan on seriously competing, you need to focus on training other than sparring like running and weighttraining. Yes, if you're planning on seriously competing, like a professional fighter. But, do it first for the experience, not just for the sake of winning. SevenStar Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 definitely do it, but you're gonna have train harder if you want to be a serious competitor.
Rich_2k3 Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 I'm looking to go pro or anything, I just want to experience a few tourny's, i'm not bothered if i dont win, as long as I try my best and do well. My only worry is that I dont want to be pitted against a much higher grade and get my * whipped. "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee
aefibird Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Well, even if you do get your * whipped by a higher grade, remember they are a higher grade than you. In other words, they've "been there, done it and bought the t-shirt". Even if you lose, there's no shame in it as long as you have tried hard and done your best. And just think on, in a couple of years, other guys might be saying "I don't want to fight Rich, that Trodai karate guy, he's got sooooo much experience and he's gonnna whip my butt!" SevenStar Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 * beatings happen... such is life. Get in there and go for it.
The Saint Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 * beatings happen... such is life. Get in there and go for it. lmao I'd compete if I were you, there is going to be alot of serious people there as well as people that enjoy competing to get better. Fenris-wolf Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Yeah, I reckon go for it. You might decide after that maybe you should train more! Personally I don't think once a week is enough even if you're not competing, but whatever floats you boat Let Us Turn The Jump Rope In Accord With Socialist Principles!
