Dijita Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 I'm with jerry - use it with a knife in your hand. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. In the street, I want him down as fast as possible... don't have time for trying to hit the bicep. In a tournament, you have gloves. Also, punches can come pretty fast... you're focusing on a rather small area. Yeah, I was talking about using this technique for strictly tournement fighting, hehe so the knife is not gonna happen . Anyways, in our tournements we're not allowed to wear gloves, it's full contact. Helmets are generally mandatory in color belt division, same with mouth guards. Shin guards are sometimes optional. Open division, the only thing you can and have to use is mouth guard. So in my opinion, if you can master a strike the bicep, it would be very useful. However, yes, I can see how if you have to wear gloves in a tournement this wouldn't be effective at all.
Treebranch Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Knife hand the bicep and use the bounce and strike to the neck following through to the throw. If you do the initial strike correctly with you body behind it, it unbalance your opponent. Take advantage of that and yeah it hurts. Karateka Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 I have had one shot to the bicep and my ENTIRE arm went black and blue. It can work especially well if the person has their muscle tensed. It all depends on impact and angle of blow. "Never hit a man while he's down; kick him, its easier"Sensei Ron Bagley (My Sensei)
Treebranch Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Koshijutsu is what that is called. Attacking muscles and nerves. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
