ShotoMan
Yes interesting reading. I can't say I agree with the muscle training until "failure" as the web author states it. In most people , 70-80% is more than sufficient to see huge benefits. Then again, I am guilty as charged of training until I crawl out of the gym on my weight / running workouts. I love training though and seeing how hard I can push myself ShotoMan of the Shotokan
Rich_2k3
Yeah the training till failure sounds like a typical kyokushin exercise... "When my enemy contracts I expand and when he expands I contract" - Bruce Lee

Guest
Training until failure isn't bad. That's how I do it. I'll do as many push ups as I can in one set until I can't push myself up again. That's all he means by it. For some of us (myself included), it doesn't take that many. Crunches are another story. I can do many, many sets of crunches, and in fact I don't think I've ever done so many that I just can't do another. The burning pain may stop me, but it isn't like the arms where the muscle just refuses to respond.
