Definately not MA related, but here it goes: I composed this song a while back, and sequenced it using fruityloops Producer edition. You can find it on this webpage:

I'm no maestro, mind you. However, I've dabbled in music for some number of years off and on. It's a bit of 80-ish sounding techno, but I wanted some constructive critisizm on it (honesty appeciated). With my new job, and my senior year heating up, I haven't had the time to make any more tunes.

If you don't like it, don't worry. I've already been told by some musicians that the sampled instruments didn't sound the greatest.

The percussion in the beginning sounds a little strange, like the rhythm is off...

With the current instruments, it's pretty 80-ish, but with different ones it would be really cool. I like the bit with the chimes...probably my favorite part.

You have a nice sense of progression and development in the song. It kind of reminds me of an Ace of Base song, in a good way. Good job!

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah... I'm a bit concerned about the fact that I can't seem to find any better instruments - electronic ones can still cost money - and downloaded free VST plugins are usually crap.
