I agree. Thre isn't just 'one' set bunkai for each movement. A lot of it is open to each karateka's interpretation. There'a always new ways to look at a kata.

Yeah try and think of every possible situation and then apply that move. Ask your self the following.

 

1 offense or defense

 

2 his left or right side

 

3 his from or his back

 

4 weapon def or open hand

 

5 could this be a throw

 

6 how does the move before or after set this up

 

7 is it used more than once in this kata or other kata and what is it doing there

 

thats just a few things i try and look at when breaking down kata Im sure there is more.
