Dux-Ryu

Recommended Posts

I finished watching the classic "Bloodsport" for about the 20th time and just wondered if Anybody has done any kind of study in this style.

Based on a true story, Frank Dux was obviously played by Jean-Claude Van Damme but it was mentioned that after being the first White to win the annual Kumite in Hong Kong, he invented "Dux-Ryu" style of Karate. I've never heard of this and Jean Claude used what appeared to be a kickboxing or Goh Ryu Style in the tournament (not sure since i know little about anything but Shotokan and He studied Shotokan when he was ten according to his bio)

So my question is what makes Dux-Ryu Karate unique and how is it implied.

If your enemy refuses to be humbled......you must destroy him.

Do a little research on the net about it and you'll find that Frank Dux is generally considered by the majority of the martial arts world as a braggert and story teller that has never been able to prove any of his claims about that "kumite" stuff.

My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
