TKD_McGee Posted November 21, 2001 Posted November 21, 2001 I purchased a CD-Rom with all the forms and kicks/punches/blocks myself for training at home, but I did find a site for everyone that has all the forms using a little animation. The forms are based on the WTF. http://www.academictaekwondo.com/poosme2.htm This may be useful if you are having problems with your forms. Keep in mind that you have to know all of your basic blocks/kicks/punches before you jump in and learn these forms. If they aren't the same as your forms then just forget about it. My school's forms are identical to these, so they are a big help. Do unto others, as they done to you.
KickChick Posted November 21, 2001 Posted November 21, 2001 Our school teaches the older hyungs/ITF forms - Chon-gi...to Tong-Il. So for those of you interested in assistance with these traditional "hyungs"" you can go to http://www.mindspring.com/~kmai/kmai_students_3.html No animation ... but very good diagrams! _________________ Tae Kwon Do Blk Belt 1st deg./Fitness Kickboxing Instructor (KarateForums Sensei) [ This Message was edited by: KickChick on 2001-11-21 14:04 ]

TKD_McGee Posted November 22, 2001 Author Posted November 22, 2001 You know ITF and WTF forms are almost identical. It is so pesky having to know the different names and forms between the different schools. Sometimes the only difference is a High Punch, or a Inner Forearm Block. So ridiculious, this makes it hard for people to transfer schools since getting a black belt should be a 5-6 year process. Do unto others, as they done to you.
KickChick Posted November 23, 2001 Posted November 23, 2001 The primary difference between ITF and WTF (from looking at the two) is that ITF uses a `stepping' movement for all hand techniques...this 'stepping motion' that the ITF utilizes is referred to by ITF practioners as a 'knee spring' or "up/down motion". It causes the body to move in a "sine wave" resulting in the whole body being involved at the moment of impact, blocking or attacking. This technique is used for both hand-techniques in ITF and kicking techniques as well. ...So actually the difference is a little more than "only a High Punch, or a Inner Forearm Block.
