JLee
my friend has studied wing chun for about a year now, and another friend of mine studied Muay Thai for a year too. they're going to go sparring later this week, i was wondering who you guys would think would win, ive been to both of their practices and Muay Thai looks really rough and Wing Chun looks like a serious self defense art. Ironberg
Fifty bucks on the Muay Thai guy for me. Jokes aside, my statement I just made will probably not be taken lightly. It's not that I think Wing Chun is ineffective, it's just that the LEARNING CURVE takes longer than a year to develope proficiency in that form of traditional art. TheDevilAside
In a sparring situation, probably Muay Thai. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
WolverineGuy
I'd have to go with the Muay Thai guy as well. Call me silly. Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon."
Ironberg
Now if the Wing Chun guy has been doing it for about four years, or has possibly cross trained - I'd put the money on the WC guy. Let us know what happens. "An enlightened man would offer a weary traveler a bed for the night, and invite him to share a civilized conversation over a bowl of... Cocoa Puffs." Shorinryu Sensei
You didn't say what kind of sparring though. full contact, I'd bet $25 onb the MT guy (you will take a check, right? ). Point fighting...never having seen either fight, I'd say even money. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
