It is called UFT (Ultimate Fighting Tournament), and held in Uruguay. Well, what makes this particular tournament different from the rest is that there are no rules, none at all. Eye gouging, groin strikes and bitting are all permitted. And I learned the champion gets paid 750 pesos per fight. Pretty sick huh? Just wanted to hear other peoples comments. I heard too that it's somewhat set up, that is the fighters hold back a lot of their power and such. It's mostly for show and to make producers a lot of money. Currency differs in every nation. In all fairness to these discussions and this UFT, 'no-holds barred' competitions were happening in Argentina, Brazil, and Peru long before the first UFC was experienced in the United States. My personal opinion is that I prefer traditional type of competitions. I'm not trying to belittle anyone who doesn't share the same view as me... it's just what I like to watch.
