WhiteBelt Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 90/10 personally, in favour of punches. The only kicks I'll use in sparring are front and side, with maybe a roundhouse to the head. 50/50 for the class. All the boxing punches are taught, although quickly, and front/round/side/axe/back/hook kicks are all loved. Personally I love when people try a hook kick. It's so easy to rush in and push them over.
MawashiGeri60 Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 in karate we usually use our hands thats where the phrase came "the way of the empty hand"
ramymensa Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I preffer leg techniques (I'm long legged and have quite a good hold on them). Still some use moslty their hands. It's in the eye of the beholder. We train both hands and legs and it's up to us to decide the percentage. World Shotokan Karate
