sindian Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I'm thinking about getting one of Simco's books. I'm not sure whether to get "The Master Text" or "Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Basics." I've only been training for a month, so I'm thinking the basic book might be better. The bjj.org review stated that the master text was for beginners to intermediate practicioners, so maybe I should get that one. Anybody who has seen both books want to make a recommendation? Also, anybody know where I can get a second-hand copy of these books. They're pretty pricey. Well, the Master Text is anyway. No luck on ebay.
catchtom Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 if you order the masters text you will get the basic book also. I bought it and it is pretty good if you use it. if you don't then its like buying an excercise machine and not using it. The books are pretty good. if you learn everything from it then you will be very good in jiu jitsu. you will learn many was to pass the guard, mount, turn overs, take down, sub-missions, alot. its a good book. but if you can, buy videos, they are better. Live to learn. I am a White belt in BJJ.
sindian Posted March 15, 2004 Author Posted March 15, 2004 The basics book is another $20, isn't it? I think the Master Text alone is $70. The package is $90. Which videos do you recommend?
