kotegashiNeo Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Thanks guys, where did you get them from? Kisshu fushin oni te hotoke kokoro
tommarker Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 http://www.karateshorinkan.com/store/c000002.htm Shureido are made in Okinawa, so don't be surprised if US Customs affects the supply. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Sasori_Te Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 I have to agree. All of Shureido's equipment is top of the line. It costs a bit more but, if you count the replacement value of the things you have now, or should I say the value of the number of times you have to replace cheap equipment versus how often you need to replace the Shureido equipment. I have a Shureido uniform that is 8 years old and going strong. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
Kill Bill960 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Way back on the firt page pacificshore you said to either go the shureido or custom made. I have heared of shureido but not custon made. do you think you could give me a reccomended site? username4 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 ya i have never seen a custom sai site what are some?
Sauzin Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 http://www.weaponsconnection.com/ These are really good too. -Paul The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.
Shorin Ryuu Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Yeah, I ordered a pair from Weapons Connection about 2 weeks ago. I had a chance to handle three different pairs over the past half year, and one of my current instructors has a pair. I finally took the plunge, but I wish I didn't have to wait another 6-8 weeks or so. Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
Shorin Ryuu Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Just as an update on this (bumped it because it was old and not likely to be seen if I simply edited it), I got the Carbone's sai in from Weapons Connection and the balance is unbelievably superb. I would say even better than Shureido. You have to feel them to know what I mean, but they are great. Oh, and this is my first post after about a month and a half hiatus or so... 1kickKO Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Hey there, I have been training with sais for quite a long time, but I have only had one pair of sai. They are the black octagon century pair you're referring to. I wouldn't suggest getting them, as mine after only about a year are bowed...the prongs are bowing on either side of each sai, and they don't respond well now because of that. I suggest getting a pair that you will enjoy for a long time, as I will probably be investing in a better pair myself soon. Good luck finding what you need.
