Variance Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Hi.. Im from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Im trying to look for suggestions of good schools/dojos/clubs in dallas. or ones to avoid.. I know to avoid McDojos.. there are quite alot of TKD Mcdojos here I think. but any other ones would be helpful too. tommarker Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 I am Texas ignorant... how far away is Plano from Dallas/Ft Worth? I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Variance Posted February 28, 2004 Author Posted February 28, 2004 Plano is in the DFW Metroplex. North Dallas to be more exact. Take everything in Moderation, including moderation itself.Beater: 02 Honda Accord V6 Coupe BPU+ (209.1whp)Track: 89 Mazda RX-7 TurboII BPU+++ (321 whp)

Sasori_Te Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Try this guy. He's directly affiliated with Taika Oyata. The style is excellent. I can't vouch for the instructor though. He is a member of the Oyata Shin Shu Ho family style as well. This is an honor given to Sensei Oyata's long time students. *Dallas Area RyuTeKan* Jim Bryant 3200 Norwood Dr. Arlington, Tx. 76010 817-784-1853 Dallas Area Ryukyu Kempo e-mail: ryute@excite.com A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
TJS Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 There are a few Machado Jiu jitsu school's in the area i belive. Guy Mezger also runs a lions den out there...they offer karate, kickboxing, and submission grappling classes...that would proabably be your best bet.
Sasori_Te Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Maybe you also need to clarify what you mean by a good school. Do you want a good school to learn a "traditional" style, or do you want a high profile school that will make you look good doing the techniques and possibly get you in some NHB competitions? A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
