White Warlock Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Here are a few video clip examples. Most of these are being performed slowly, in a relaxed state, and with consideration for the partner's safety. so-so quality clips. Note that the interview of grandmaster Jimmy Woo ends with him giving a demonstration - http://www.kungfusansoostuff.com/masterswork.html More masters at play - http://www.easthillskungfu.com/videos.htm A nice demonstration - http://www.easthillskungfu.com/fair.htm Video clips from master Chuck Cory's site - http://www.sansoomichigan.com/vidgallery.htm (don't have realplayer installed, so can't vouch for these) http://www.redshift.com/~mjacobi/mpegs.html "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro

Natural Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Heres....about the history http://crane.50megs.com/index6d.htm Hope it helps. If you read all article, sanda was copy from muay thai because they were geetting beat up, but they have done well, they began in 1997, and beaten the thais. A karate punch it is like a dasvasted stick blow. Instead, a blow of Kung Was is comparable to a lash with a chain that has attacked, allaltra extremity one ball of ferro
White Warlock Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Ahem... Natural. Sanshou/sanda is not San Soo. Not even remotely similar. You're doing that guessing thing we talked about... "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro
turonaga Posted March 2, 2004 Author Posted March 2, 2004 Ahem... Natural. Sanshou/sanda is not San Soo. Not even remotely similar. You're doing that guessing thing we talked about...so sanshou/sanda is another style of kung fu? what does it look like? why did we surrender lord?
White Warlock Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 Yes, completely different animal. The name 'san soo' was posed by grandmaster Jimmy Woo around 1970 as a means to pacify the Americans that wanted something easier to say and market than 'tsoi li ho fut hung ga,' the original name of the art that is argued to be over 4000 years old. Sanshou, on the other hand, is far younger and is a 'byproduct' of relatively recent Chinese/Thailand competitions. Read the article, noted above by Natural, for what seems to be a 'biased' report on sanshou. "When you are able to take the keys from my hand, you will be ready to drive." - Shaolin DMV TestIntro
