How can I use my elbows, knees in the most effctive ways in a real fight?

A karate punch it is like a dasvasted stick blow. Instead, a blow of Kung Was is comparable to a lash with a chain that has attacked, allaltra extremity one ball of ferro

You can hit people with them :lol:

 

Knee to the groin is always a good one. That spinning elbow thing from muay thai looks pretty good, but I've never seen it used in a real fight.

 

If you get too close to punch effectively, you can do a kind of uppercut with your elbow. If you hit your opponent under the chin, you'll probably knock him out (seen it happen in a real fight).

 

If you can manage it, pulling your opponents head down onto your rising knee is devastating.

If you punch someone in the face, and don't make them stumble to the ground, it's always nice to shuffle in and elbow them in the sternum/solar plexus. If someone grab you with one hand from behind or something, step back and elbow them somewhere in the chest (it all hurts). As far as knees go, I hate using them, they work nicely if your opponent is bent over, other than that, I don't like using my knees.

 

Knees and elbows can, basically, be used whenever you're very close to your oppponent and don't have much space for a kick or straight punch. American Kenpo makes excellent use of knees and elbows.

throw a chop to the nose, eyes or face (basically a distracting technique) let that hand slide over the top of the head or the side and grip the back of the skull, then pull the head into the elbow that is coming in at the same time to smash their face.

 

also if your opponent is on the ground knees to the head work well or ribs, also while grappling elbows can be very effective since you are already in close proximity to your opponent and therefore you dont have to worry about getting in close for the strike, youre already there.

Think of knees and elbows as in close strikes and kicks.

 

Elbows especially can add flow to your assault. Instead of just withdrawing your hand after a strike, follow on in with an elbow. Same with a punch that is intercepted incorrectly- collapse the arm and convert it to an elbow strike.

 

Instead of just crescenting around behind his leg for a sweep, kneehis quads as you step behind. Getting a knee up into his mid-section can keep a grappler off you enough to let you work.

 

There are infinite ways to use knees and elbows. Find a style that teaches the use of elbows and an instructor that knows how to teach it.

as any thai boxer will tell you, there's a knee for all occasions - long knee, short knee, skip knee, diagonal knee, jump knee, side knee, etc. the same goes for elbows. You have to be able to control the distance. If you can do that, then you can use them effectively. dont' limit yourself to a knee to the groin - target the kidney area, the thigh, the stomach... if their head is too low when they duck, or you have them in plomb and their head is low, knee or jump knee.

Many fail to recognize that knees, elbows and your skull are some of your greatest striking and driving tools in a grapple.

 

Elbows and knees work great for just a fraction of a second in close-in fighting, but that range has a very short lifespan and people tie-up (grapple) or step back almost immediately.

 

note: i base my thoughts on 'street,' not rules-bogged tournaments. I, frankly, could care less what works or doesn't work in a tourney.
