MichiganTKD Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 True story-same guy. He was at another testing awhile back, and our Instructor asked him if he could break a board with a jumping front kick. I think it was to show what a good jumping kick looked like. The board was held at a height of about 10 feet, and the guy kept trying until he finally succeeded. He is only about 5'8" by the way. His problem was that his Tae Kwon Do technique was exceptional, and the Instructor kept testing him to see what he was capable of. My opinion-Welcome to it.
Darth Paul Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 I saw a guy hold suspended boards for a jump spinning heel kick. The board fragments went everywhere and a piece flew up and whacked him in the head when the black belt did the kick. A minor cut was all he sustained.
jakmak52 Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Broke the mid right hand third digit metacarpal, two titanium screws, missed the middle of the board Best regards,Jack Makinson
Thruhiker Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 We had an individual in our class that attempted to break 8-10 cement bricks and the shrapnel fell on his foot and broke his toe.
