My Senseis are always telling the class that you need to take what you learn in the dojo and practice it in the real world, and I believe them. Even if it's a minor thing, I try to practice my katas every day, and I am always practicing deep breathing.

Anyway, how many hours in the dojo is a good number? Each of my classes is 90 minutes long, and I try to make 3 a week (4.5 hours).

I think four is good, personally, as long as you're training outside.

The dojo isn't as important as bringing home what you learn. Home can be the best place to knock the kinks out. It has to become a lifestyle if you really want to become your best.

A combination of dojo and home training is the best approach. I'd say train at least twice a week in the dojo to get any benefit out of your MA training.

As many as possible. You can't really go to the dojo too much. I'd say 2 hours a week would be the bare minimum.

Anko Itosu said that an hour of Karate a day will make you a master. I think this is a good amount of time if you have it.
