Patrick Posted June 24, 2001 Posted June 24, 2001 A staff member suggested that possibly a Weapons forum would be a good addition? I wanted to find out what you all thought and if you would like to see it and would be interested in it. Thanks. Taesujutsudrw Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 Hi Patrick, Yeah I think that would be great. I teach five different weapons maily..so I think it would be quite interesting. Angus Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 Yeah, it wouldn't be a bad idea. I couldn't moderate it though cos i know very little of the weapons apart from a little stick fighting and Bo staff. I can throw knives too (accurately). It should be good, that is if u decide to do it. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
egarlock Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 I might be interested in moderating. I can supply info on knives, sticks, short-sword, staff, and sarong/"rope like things". Most of it would have a southeast asian flavor as most of experience with weapons has been in kali and silat. Hit Harder, Run Faster
thaiboxerken Posted June 25, 2001 Posted June 25, 2001 Hey egarlock, I'm a Kali and Silat guy myself. I also dabble a bit in Krabi Kabrong, the weapon art that Muay Thai came from. Right now, I'm learning flexible weapons and firearms. I feel firearms should be included in modern-day Kali along with blowgun, crossbow and bow. The flexible weapons is really great because a purse can then become a very nasty weapon, using the same methods that a sarong is used for. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
Patrick Posted June 25, 2001 Author Posted June 25, 2001 Thanks for the input. I'll probably add one within a couple of days.
