Spyder
Hi everyone. Is it possible to still get good? I'm 23 years old (turn 24 in april). I've been taking Aikido for a month. I'm not trying to be a great master, movie star or even a black belt. I just want to be good enough so this stuff becomes second nature. I have previous martial arts and boxing exposure so I'm not a complete noob. Thanks
stl_karateka
Its never too late! Second nature will come with practice and time. And your previous experience should help you. BTW --- welcome to the forum KarateForums.com Sempai
crash
its not too late yet, but you must train hard and be "good" before april, 'cause everyone knows once you turn 24 its all down hill from there...lol just kidding. like stl_karateka said, second nature will come with practice. you still have many, many years before its too late. keep practicing and good luck. aznkarateboi
its too late. you have to start in shaolin temple when you are 5 years old and kiss the instructors posterior every day and mop the floor, then you will be ready to learn Edited February 3, 2004 by aznkarateboi
ZR440
You meant to say behind, backside, or posterior, right? It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
SevenStar
it's never too late, and even if there was a time for it to be too late, it would be WAY later than 23.
Bretty101
I'm 23! I am still developing at the same rate i did when i first started age 13. The only difference is at 23 I do not have the time, energy or enthusiasm I had then, such is working life. 23 is no way old!! I know hundreds of students who started martial arts in their early twenties (my university taekwondo club has over 450 students!). the ones who take it seriously are very good! Just make sure you know what you want to get out of it. For me... Q. Who is the best martial artist? A. The one having the most fun!! All the best! kotegashiNeo
23 is great age to start trainning because you can incorperate life experience and knowledge into your trainning plus the strength of character you have amassed so far...... Karateka_latino
Why does people feel soooo old when they reach there 20s?? lol I've noticed that for sometime now. I read thread like this thinking this person may be in there late 50's or something and turns out to be in there early 20's wondering if its too late now. lol Many grand masters started to train in there early 20's. Even Combat Sports icons Like Bas Rutten who started to train in his early 20's And Aikido is an art that just gets better as you get older so, No problem friend.
