Spookey
POLITICAL HISTORY OF TKD...Q&A I am hoping to allow a thread to debate the conceptions and mis-conceptions of TKD politics... Just for Starters: Why did Gen. Choi leave the S. Korea Was the WTF formed as the nemisis of the ITF (and if so why) Did the government of S. Korea force several Korean ITF Masters back to S. Korea by threats and use of force Have you witnessed TKD goons (WTF/ITF) strong arm the others dojang These topics seem to be debated around yet not directly addressed by most instructors and kwan jangs...I am looking forward to hearing from you all! equaninimus
POLITICAL HISTORY OF TKD...Q&A I am hoping to allow a thread to debate the conceptions and mis-conceptions of TKD politics... Just for Starters: Why did Gen. Choi leave the S. KoreaMy understanding of this was that he left because he was got on the wrong side of Syngmann Rhee. Something that was not especially difficult to do. Was the WTF formed as the nemisis of the ITF (and if so why)When Choi left Korea, he took his organization with him. the KTA simply created a new organization, the WTF. Did the government of S. Korea force several Korean ITF Masters back to S. Korea by threats and use of forceNever heard that one before. Have you witnessed TKD goons (WTF/ITF) strong arm the others dojangAgain, a new one on me. BTW, I didn't answer the poll question, which is poorly worded and misleading. There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!

Spookey
Dear Readers, So many people feel comfortable in trashing Taekwon-Do, yet no one wishes to address specifics. How often people speak of the politics of TKD in generalizations )especially on this forum) yet of some 50+ viewers to this thread only one reply! I appreciate that one reply and hope to see more in the near future! TAEKWON! Spookey Do not defend against an attacker, but rather become the attacker...Destroy the enemy!TAEKWON! ninjanurse
Personally, politics have nothing to do with how I practice my art. tommarker
I can get involved in martial arts politics in my own organization if I want... no need to start digging up dirt on other orgs, much less arts. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.

CloudDragon
I agree with ninjanurse, politics don't mean ^%$# in a dark alley. A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit!
